5 Quick Natural Anti-Aging Hand Treatments

June 18, 2022 by Fresh Face Guide

Given the amount of work they do, it’s no surprise that our hands appear to age faster than the rest of our bodies. However, there are a few things you can do to keep your hands looking young.

The best anti-aging hand treatment is prevention, so, in this article, we will explore how you can adapt your home anti-aging routine in order to avoid wrinkles!

Why Do You Need an Anti-Aging Hand Treatment?

As you age, your skin changes. Because of the decreased volume and skin elasticity, the skin becomes transparent, wrinkles, and develops age spots. That is the moment when you need an anti-aging hand treatment.

The anti-aging hand care you require depends on different variables, such as your age, type of skin, or prevention methods you already took along the way. Sometimes, the premature aging of your skin can be a sign of skin cancer, so you might need to consult with a board certified dermatologist. However, if you are still not facing serious issues, a homemade anti-aging routine is all you need for young skin.

Tips And Tricks to Try at Home to Prevent Aging Hands

Your hands deserve the best, therefore you need to protect them until visible signs of aging appear on your skin. Thankfully, we are here to make your work easier. Let’s take a look at these tips and tricks you can try at home that will help you keep your hands soft and young for longer!

1. Use an Anti-Aging Hand Cream

Anti-aging hand creams can be your biggest ally, so make sure to include them into your anti-aging routine! While we are getting older, skin can droop, become red or discolored, and have a rough texture or growths. Dehydration and peeling of the hands can also make them appear older.

The type of anti-aging hand creams you are using depends on the specific type of skin you are having and the results you are looking for. For example, if you are looking for deep conditioning, you might want to try an anti-aging hand cream with shea butter. On the other hand, if you are looking for extra moisture for dry skin, you can try anti-aging hand creams with almond milk.

2. Massage Your Hands

Besides applying anti-aging hand creams, an important part of your anti-aging hand treatment is massage.

When you massage your hands, you should apply a small amount of essential oils or shea butter on your hands. You should do this before going to sleep to help moisturize your skin and keep it healthy. Coconut oil comes highly recommended. If you add some sugar to the mixture, it will exfoliate your skin.

3. Reduce Sun Exposure

Because sun exposure to UV rays produces age spots, the easiest approach to avoid them is by applying sunscreen on your hands as a protective layer. This will allow you to avoid sun damage and will protect hands from dark spots and wrinkles.

Wear a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 to 50 at all times. Most importantly, keep in mind that you should reapply sun protection throughout the day. Keep your hands as far away from direct and indirect sunlight as possible, especially between periods of peak temperature.

4. Exfoliate Your Skin

An indispensable part of your anti-aging hand care should be exfoliation. When manually exfoliating, it’s crucial to be gentle with your skin. Make tiny, circular motions with your finger or your favourite scrubbing tool to apply an exfoliating cream. This will help you with the removal of dead skin cells.

If you have cuts, open sores, or tanned skin, exfoliation should be avoided. After cleansing, use a sun cream or an anti-aging hand cream with SPF.

5. Follow a Healthy Diet

Eating a well-balanced diet rich in whole grains, colorful fruit, vegetables, and healthy fats will help keep your skin looking vibrant and youthful.

Here are some more options to include in your diet for an anti-aging hand treatment:

  • Protein, selenium, antioxidants, and coenzyme Q10 are all important components of anti-wrinkle diets.
  • Eat meals high in vitamins A, C, and E, that can help your body produce more collagen and elastin.

It’s Time To Take Care of Your Aging Skin!

The next natural step of your anti-aging hand care is to put all of these tips into actions, and results will not cease to follow! You can have lovely, supple skin for a long time if you take care of your hands, eat well, avoid the sun, and live an overall healthier life.
