[Summary] Looking to buy Hair Removal Cream? Learn more about its ingredients first!

Hair removal cream is a depilatory product that has become more and more popular among Americans in the last few years. It is meant to easily remove your hair, without any pain or other discomforts. To know how this product actually works, you must first learn more about its main ingredients.

Aloe Vera

Aloe is known to be very beneficial for the skin. I am sure you have noticed that the most respected skin-care products contain this herb among the ingredients. Aloe Vera will soothe and moisturize your skin, preventing irritation.

Glycerin

Hair removal cream also contains glycerin, which is an odorless liquid that is used in many personal care products because it is very effective in hydrating the skin. Hydration is important when it comes to hair removal, as dry skin is more prone to develop irritations.

Calcium Hydroxide

More commonly known as slaked lime, this is the ingredient that “melts” the hair. It can cause skin irritations and burning sensations in some cases, but the manufacturers added glycerin and aloe to prevent this from happening.

Calcium Thioglycolate

Having similar effects as calcium hydroxide, it breaks the bond between the hair and its follicle, causing it to fall off. Because of the way it works, calcium Thioglycolate decreases the occurrence of ingrown hairs, which usually develop due to shaving or waxing.

Mineral Oil

Hair removal cream also contains mineral oil, which is used in most of the baby lotions. It works as a skin ointment, preventing rashes, inflammation and water loss. Mineral oil can also be found in many make-up removal products.

Petrolatum

Petrolatum, also known as petroleum jelly, is an ointment that has anti-bacterial properties and also works as a skin softener. FDA has approved its use in skin care products.

Stearyl Alcohol

With its wide use in the perfume and cosmetics industry, stearyl alcohol is a necessary ingredient due to its emollient and emulsifying qualities.

Cetyl Alcohol

Cetyl alcohol is a common ingredient in moisturizers, as it provides the needed binding between oils and water. This way it helps hair removal cream prevent the dryness that can occur after the hair removal process.
