Puffy Eyes Natural Remedies — How to Reduce Eye Puffiness

March 6, 2021 by Fresh Face Guide

Read these simple tricks to learn how to revitalize your eyes in natural ways

Puffy eyes usually occur due to excess fluid retention in the eye area. It is a very common problem and it can easily be treated naturally, without great effort or expenses.

Cucumbers and potatoes

The best puffy eyes natural remedies are cucumbers and potatoes. Cut a fresh cucumber or potato into thin slices and blend it until it forms a paste. Add a cup of basil tea and freeze this mixture. When your eyes become puffy, apply the frozen mixture on them, and keep it there for a couple of minutes. Carefully wash your eyes afterwards.

Another way to use potatoes or cucumbers is to simply mince some pieces and place them under the eyes to reduce the puffiness.

Massage

This is one of the simplest puffy eyes natural remedies, as you actually do not need any ingredients or tools other than your own hands. Very gently massage the eyebrows and the orbit with your middle finger. It will help reduce fluid retention and alleviate the puffiness.

Cold compress

You can use ice cubes or simply dip a small towel in cold water and keep it under your eyes until it warms up. Repeat the treatment as many times as necessary until the puffiness goes away.

Green tea

Apply a cold tea bag or a cotton ball dipped in iced green tea on your eyes (keep your eyes closed, of course). This natural remedy contains tannin, which will tighten your skin and reduce the swelling.

Cold milk

Dip 2 cotton balls in cold milk and apply them on your eyes. Keep them until they get warm and repeat the treatment. Do this for about 10-15 minutes, until the swelling is reduced.

Cold metal spoon

This is another very effective puffy eyes natural remedy. Put a metal tablespoon in the fridge for about 10 minutes. Place it on your eye afterwards, and keep it until it gets warmer.

Natural Eye Creams

There are many natural eye creams that are specially designed to reduce eye puffiness. You can find them either in drugstores or on the Internet.
