Putting Natural Anti-Aging Products Under the Spotlight – Is Anti Aging Even Real?

Putting Natural Anti-Aging Products Under the Spotlight – Is Anti Aging Even Real

A large number of regular people and experts alike have already posed the question as to whether or not anti-aging products have real positive effects. The question isn’t whether there are topical creams, lotions and pills that do what they say they do, but whether their effect can actually be considered “anti-aging.”

Understanding the Aging Process

Aging is determined at a genetic level. Not even the best stretch mark cream can go that deep, and scientists have revealed – NCBI experts affirm – that the process of actually slowing down the aging quality of the human body is much harder than it looks.

Telomeres present at the end of each human chromosome shorten with every round of cell division. This process limits the proliferation of human cells to a certain, finite number of division, effectively acting as a built-in safeguard against the rapid development of tumors. Because of this limitation, however, telomere shortening effectively determines how long we live, and how long before we become increasingly prone to almost any disease.

So, unless scientists can find the “holy grail” of human anatomy through a method that can prevent the shortening of telomeres and effectively extend the span of a human lifetime, reversing or even slowing down the aging process with the help of any product will be virtually impossible.

What Anti-Aging Products Actually Do

As Livescience will tell you, most anti aging products are more like a “magic trick” performed by the “illusionist” that is the dermatologist or medical professional who has come up with them.

However, even though they don’t actually reverse aging at a genetic level, these products do offer a lot of benefits that can help you look and feel a lot younger. They’ll make your skin look and feel smoother, help improve the efficiency of your body’s basic functions to make your body more resilient, prevent skin problems and complications that could lead to the need for expensive treatments, and give you that extra boost in life that will make you feel brand new.

So, as you can see, it’s not always about the factual anti-aging benefits that skincare products can offer, but more about how they can change your life in ways you might not even assume at first.
